Zomato platform fee hike: The last such hike was happened in September 2025. Including taxes, Zomato's food delivery rival Swiggy is currently charging a fee of Rs 14.99 per order. Typically, the two players follow each other in changing these levies. The Gurgaon-based company last increased the fee in September 2025.On a pre-goods and services tax (GST) basis, the platform fee is now Rs 14.90 per order, up from Rs 12.50 earlier. Including GST, users will now pay Rs 17.58 per order as platform fee.

During October-December 2025, Zomato delivered 266.9 million orders, according to a Nomura report. A Rs 2.40 increase in fees would translate into additional income of about Rs 64-65 crore per quarter at that rate of orders. After accounting for taxes, the platform fee largely flows directly to the company's profit.
The move comes as urban mobility startup Rapido has launched its food delivery service, Ownly, in Bengaluru, stating it will not charge any additional fees to customers or restaurants beyond a delivery charge. Ecommerce firm Flipkart is also working on plans to enter the segment, ET reported last month.
For Zomato's parent Eternal, as well as Swiggy, food delivery remains the primary cash-generating business, even as both companies continue to invest heavily in their quick commerce units amid intense competition.
The food delivery segment, which saw growth taper after the peak Covid-19 years, showed signs of recovery in the December quarter, exceeding both analyst estimates and internal projections for gross order value. ET reported on February 24 that this expansion had been driven by the duopoly refocusing on user growth, particularly among low-order-value and price-sensitive customers.
On Friday, Eternal's shares closed about 1.5% higher at Rs 232.30 apiece on the BSE, outpacing the 0.4% rise for the broader index.
