Indian commercial interiors startup Officebanao raises $7.7M

Commercial interiors startup Officebanao has raised $7.7 million in a new funding round led by venture capital firm Lightspeed, the company said on Tuesday, as it projects a tenfold increase in revenue over three years.

The funding, which included participation from Medra Family Office and other investors, was structured across two tranches in June 2025 and January 2026. The capital injection follows a $6 million seed round led by Lightspeed in 2023.

Founded in 2023, the technology-enabled workspace design and execution firm expects revenue to reach Rs 225 crore for the fiscal year 2026, up from Rs 22 crore in its first year of operation. The company stated it is currently on track to achieve EBITDA break-even by the end of 2026.

Officebanao currently operates in 25 Indian cities, providing design, procurement, and construction services for offices, co-working spaces, and retail outlets. The company is targeting a domestic interior design market projected to reach $35 billion in 2026, a sector that remains heavily fragmented and dominated by unorganized operators.

The startup uses a proprietary technology stack, including specialised enterprise resource planning software and 3D visualization tools, aimed at reducing the delays and cost overruns typical in commercial fit-outs. The company plans to allocate capital toward integrating artificial intelligence and machine learning for automated design generation, predictive scheduling, and intelligent procurement.

“Our ambition is to build the operating system for commercial interiors in India. Every

design decision, every material procurement, every contractor assignment, every quality check—all connected, all data-driven, all transparent. That’s what transforms a services business into a scalable platform," explained Tushar Mittal, founder and CEO at Officebanao.

To manage its expansion, Officebanao recently restructured its executive team, appointing new heads for engineering, design, and regional operations following the departure of two early leaders, Divyanshu Sharma and Akshya Kumar.
